Woman hospitalized after pedestrian crash on Fincham Ave in Markham

MARKHAM, ON — An elderly woman was walking her dog Monday morning in Markham when she was hit and seriously injured by a car, according to Global News.

The pedestrian crash happened at around 8:30 a.m. on Fincham Avenue, between Ninth Line and 16th Avenue.

York Regional Police did not clarify whether the victim was in the roadway when she was struck, but first responders rushed her to an area hospital with serious injuries. It was unclear whether her dog was injured during the incident.

No information about the driver or pending charges has been released at this time.

Authorities urged the public to find detours around the scene during the emergency response and investigation.
